The domaine

Facing the Pic Saint-Loup, in an exceptional natural setting, the Domaine du Mas de l'Oncle stands in the heart of a land of vines that smells of the south and even more so of the Languedoc. Entirely clad in wood, the building almost blends in with its surroundings. Authentic, peaceful, natural... it is like its wines: a pure product of the land.

Who we are

Between land and sea...
A Pic Saint-Loup appellation

Thanks to meticulous work and quality blends, the wines of the Mas de l'Oncle estate each have their own personality. Here, balance and finesse are found at the expense of opulence. Originality and quality are the two key words that guide our philosophy, to always offer cuvées like no other.

The Mas de l'Oncle's range of wines is divided into several vintages: AOC Pic Saint-Loup, which represents more than half of our vines, but also IGP Saint Guilhem le Désert and Vins de France.

red wines

Red wines are the main wines of Mas de l'Oncle. They represent 16 hectares of the estate with 3 main grape varieties: Syrah (45%), Grenache (30%) and Mourvèdre (5%).

white wines

White wines represent 10% of the Mas de l'Oncle parcels, including Viognier, Grenache and Vermentino.

IGP Saint Guilhem le
Désert

Mas de l'Oncle also offers a hybrid cuvée, made from a clone of Grenache and Jurançon Noir, which was created by the INRA in Montpellier. It contains 5% Merlot and 5% Chenanson, both vinified in IGP Saint Guilhem.
A renowned terroir, north of Montpellier and south of the Cévennes, the Pic Saint-Loup appellation extends over 17 communes, all dominated by the majestic Pic Saint-Loup.

OUR HISTORY

A little history

The Mas de l'Oncle is above all a wine-growing land cultivated since the last century by Denis, the then owner. A lover of the vine, the wine grower cultivated grapes to supply the cooperative cellar of Saint Mathieu de Tréviers. On his death, he passed on his inheritance to his nephew.

As a tribute to his family, the heir created "Le Mas de l'Oncle", which he set up as a private cellar in 2004. And so the first bottle was born...

Seven years later, the nephew, now close to retirement, decided to part with the estate. Fabrice BONMARCHAND, the current owner and winemaker, acquired the estate with the desire to reconnect with nature and offer products that are as beautiful as they are good.

OUR TEAM

FABRICE
BONMARCHAND

WINEMAKER
In love with the Languedoc, it was Fabrice BONMARCHAND who made Mas de l'Oncle what it is today. After several years of travelling the roads of France, he decided to make his childhood dream come true: to go green and become the owner of magnificent vineyards.
"The high standards and rigour I acquired in my former professional life drive me to seek excellence for the estate, both in terms of the quality of the wines and the services we offer."
His aesthetic and creative vision, acquired during a long career in the building and architecture sector, enabled him to combine the finesse of wine with architectural beauty. To enhance the value of good local products in a warm place that reflects its environment naturally became the guiding principle of the project.

A passionate self-taught man, Fabrice BONMARCHAND has been able to give the estate a new impetus since his arrival in 2011: supervision of cultivation work, vinification, commercial development, marketing... this five-legged sheep has also made it possible to convert the estate to organic farming in 2012 and to increase production from 15,000 to 100,000 bottles per year in the space of 5 years.
Our commitments

CHARLOTTE
ARRAIZ

WINEMAKER
After a long career as a salesperson and manager for major brands, Charlotte ARRAIZ has just arrived in the wine sector. Her meeting with Fabrice BONMARCHAND over a glass of red wine from the estate changed her career path. Their common vision of the business world, coupled with their shared passion for architecture, has enabled the duo to set the future of Mas de l'Oncle in motion.

His main mission? To support Fabrice BONMARCHAND in his daily activities and to ensure the development of the estate thanks to his vision of the tertiary sector, all in a calm and green environment!
